When you live alone it leaves countless hours for my mind to race with useless questions. Through countless internet tabs and a never ending cycle of countless random facts, i found myself on a page with random animal facts...
Did you know that chickens have REM sleep, essentially meaning that they dream?
There is your fun fact for the day...
Anyway, on to a more serious side of things...
I have begun to completely isolate myself from reading the news online because everything becomes just another sad tale... A death here, a rape there and countless stories of murder, corruption and irrational decisio ns. I have read many ti mes in my life and a couple today the account of Noah, which recently was sparked after seeing Noah in theaters a few weeks ago.
"5 The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. 6 The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.7 So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.”
I can't help feel that we are slowly drifting to this state of humanity again. I know that the Lord says, he will never flood the Earth again but there are many things that can destroy mankind.
I don't mean to get too serious but I am just tired of all the bad being broadcast across the planet. I know there is good out there and I often have to remind myself that good is done everyday in ways that may not affect a mass of people, but just a smile or a kind word can be all the good someone needs in one day.
I have a friend that is leaving for a foreign country in a couple of days to help teach the native students. I won't disclose any more information than that to protect this person but it's just an example of good being done in what some may consider a "bad" world.
All of this isn't what I necessarily had in mind to talk about in this post, but I am finding that no matter what I plan to write it changes when I open up my laptop.
Good news, tomorrow is Friday... Everyone enjoy your weekend and don't party too hard!
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
